In the golden autumn and September, the air was heavy with the aroma of orange osmanthus. On September 2 and September 3, more than 120 freshmen from all over the country came to Southwest Jiaotong University to start a new journey in life.
The School attached great importance to the freshmen registration. In the background of pandemic prevention and control, we formulated a detailed plan for the freshmen registration, carried out volunteer training, material preparation and other tasks to ensure the smooth progress of the freshmen registration.
At 6 am on the first day, the counselors and student volunteers arranged the registering booths in time. The registering spots in Xipu campus and Jiuli campus were ready for the arrival of freshmen.
During this period, Secretary Wang Shunhong, President Yang Dan and other leaders came to the registration site of the School of Marxism to have a cordial exchange with the leaders and staff of the School. Dean Lin Bohai, Secretary Liu Zhanxiang, Deputy Secretary Xiong Yu and other leaders visited freshmen at the registration site.
When freshmen arrived at the registration site, the counselors and volunteers patiently explained related matters to them. Although the freshmen were slightly exhausted from the journey, their faces were filled with smiles. Volunteers also actively helped the freshmen carry their luggage and answered their questions. Freshmen were full of yearning for a better learning life and entered a new stage.
On September 5, the freshmen of the School of Marxism attended the Opening Convocation at the Xipu Campus and the Jiuli Campus, besides listened to the first lesson of the freshmen given by Secretary Wang Shunhong. Everyone had a deeper understanding of the glorious history of Southwest Jiaotong University and a mastery of the methods to achieve life goals.
The 2021 freshmen are expected to persist working hard at a new starting point and spread their wings and fly high in the days to come!
